Golden Stories of Sayyida Khadijah (RA) – Mother of the Believers
Book Name: Golden Stories of Sayyida Khadijah (RA) – Mother of the Believers
Author:Abdul Malik Mujahid
This book has a beautiful way of describing the life of Sayyida Khadijah (RA). It covers the background, birth, and life of Khadijah (RA) and is able to paint an amazing picture of the events in Khadijah (RA’s) life that helped elevate Islam. From details about the children of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Khadijah (RA), to details of Khadijah (RA)’s previous marriages and her children from them. It describes the events after the passing of Sayyida Khadijah (R.A) and the effects on the people around her. There is even additional information written about the grandchildren of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Khadijah (R.A.)
I really enjoyed reading this book for the fact that it gives a very detailed description of the events of her life and how it all comes together as a puzzle in the end that illustrates the amazing legacy she left behind. For example, how the lineage of Khadijah (R.A) and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) meet and how they later connect. I enjoyed the birds-eye perspective that this book provides. It is as if you are in those very moments of war, boycott, loss, and victory.
The book paints a very special and beautiful picture of Khadijah (RA). It focuses on her role as a businesswoman, wife, mother, and supporter of Islam. Khadijah (RA) is truly inspiring.
The book includes some visuals, which help to better understand the text. The author has also written some of the words that are emphasized in the book in blue or pink to highlight important text and points throughout the passages.
The author does a great job formatting the book in an easy to read manner that will slowly unfold. For example, the way that the children of Khadijah (RA) transition into the text is great.
In full, the book covers Khadijah (RA), her children and their marriages, her grand-children and their marriages, and some of the wives and other family members that were related to the children and grand-children. For example, Sawda (RA) took on a motherly role after the passing of Khadijah (RA). She was there to help raise Ruqayyah (RA) and Fatima (RA) after they had lost their mother and were still very young.
Abdul Malik Mujahid is an experienced and thoughtful writer. He has written other books such as the Golden Seerah, which you can find at the end of this review. His books illustate that he has a talent for writing and relaying history in an interesting way. He is using this talent in the way of Allah SWT, as I hope to one day.
I would highly recommend reading this book to anyone who is looking for a good biography on Khadijah (R.A). It describes the beautiful character and personality of Khadijah (R.A) as a mother, wife, businesswoman, and supporter of Islam. It is easy to understand, yet still goes into enough depth that it helps to connect the reader with Khadijah (R.A) and her legacy. This book is a must read and you can’t miss it!
